However, the neurologist never reviewed the MRI results and thus Kimberly was not evaluated as a surgical candidate. At court, an expert testified on Kimberly’s behalf that surgery, if provided, would have had a 70-80% chance of halting the progression of the disease. This 75-year-old woman was diagnosed with mesothelioma due to asbestos exposure. She had not smoked for 20-30 years, but had been employed in the brakes division at BorgWarner for 15 years. We secured a settlement of $2,626,500.

We represented the family of a 48-year-old who was shot and killed by a security guard outside of a gas station. Our unarmed client got into an argument with the security over loud music when the situation escalated and the guard killed him.

Shortly before 2 a.m., two Columbus, Ohio police officers responded to a non-emergency call about a parked car. His doctors failed to diagnose him with a spinal epidural abscess in a timely manner. A spinal epidural abscess threatens the health of the spinal cord in multiple ways. During a Chicago heat wave, three women were found deceased in their apartments after exposure to extreme heat. The James Sneider apartments, where the women resided, shockingly failed to turn on any air conditioning resulting in the temperatures exceeding 100° in the units and the untimely deaths of these women. Grace (name changed to protect client) was sent to a nursing home after knee surgery. While there, she developed a bedsore at the base of her spine that went undetected due to her nursing home staff’s neglect. He endured a very long road to recovery.
